Jeane Dixon, who was born in Medford, Wisconsin in 1904, but raised in Missouri and California, went onto become one of America's most famous psychics after some of her predictions have been eerily accurate. She initially worked writing horoscopes that were published in newspapers and magazines across the US and eventually she started making predictions using a crystal ball. The astrologer became known for her prophecies about major political events and she even wrote seven best-selling books, including an autobiography filled with her predictions for the following years. In her 1971 memoir, A Gift of Prophecy: The Phenomenal Jeane Dixon, she revealed there would be a terrorist act against a New York skyscraper in the near future, which many believed to be the 9/11 attacks. However, her forecasts extended far into the future, with some focusing on the year 2025. In her 1969 book, My Life and Prophecies, Jeane forecast that between 2025 and 2037, a war would erupt between China and Russia. She envisioned China conquering a substantial portion of northern Russia, advancing into Finland, Norway, Sweden, and Denmark, halting at the German border. 'In that year Red China will march into Russia, conquer a large part of the USSR's northern area, and will not stop until it has moved into Finland, Norway, Sweden, and Denmark, stopping at the German border. 'It will not invade Western Europe, by that time, however, Russia will also have expanded her direct sphere of influence. It will no longer be limited to the countries of Eastern Europe but will now include Libya, Ethiopia, Iran, and much of Africa. This war of conquest will last from 2025-2037.' Meanwhile it was her accurate prediction that John F. Kennedy would be assassinated was what started her ride to fame. She wrote in the May 1956 issue of Parade Magazine that the 1960 presidential election would be won by a Democrat who would 'be assassinated or die in office.' President Kennedy won the 1960 election for the Democrats and was assassinated on 22 November 1963. Suspect Lee Harvey Oswald was arrested around an hour after the assassination for the murder of Dallas police officer J Tippit. Oswald was then shot while being escorted to a car for transfer from Dallas Police Headquarters to the Dallas County Jail two days later. Nixon went on to be the 37th president of the United States and began with his first inauguration on January 20, 1969. However his presidency ended when he resigned on August 9, 1974, in the face of almost certain impeachment and removal from office, the only U.S. president ever to do so, following the Watergate scandal. Nixon, who was so enamored with Jeane actually invited her to the oval office on several occasions to hear more of her predictions. She spoke to him about a vision she had about a terror attack in 1972, which would take place that summer. However not all of her prediction were accurate, for example, Jeane believed that Russia would beat the US in the race to become the first nation to put a man on the moon. While the first country to land a spacecraft on the Moon was the Soviet Union, specifically with its Luna 9 probe in 1966, the first human to walk on the moon was Neil Armstrong, on July 20, 1969, during the Apollo 11 mission. She was also incorrect by predicting that World War Three would break out in 1958, there would be a cure for cancer in 1967, a second holocaust in the 1980s, and that Rome would rise to once again become the biggest empire in the world. Meanwhile she claimed the world would end in 2020 when a 'war of armageddon' would break out and wipe out the planet. However she might have been referring to the Covid-19 pandemic, which broke out in 2020, and over 3.4 million people were reported to have died globally, according to the World Health Organisation.
