Bengaluru: A shocking incident at the Kempegowda International Airport left a traveller disgusted after he allegedly found a worm in a breakfast dish served by a popular South Indian food chain. The customer, who had ordered pongal from The Rameshwaram Cafe, claimed that the staff initially tried to brush aside his complaint, until he began recording the scene on his phone. The man said he was served the pongal on Thursday morning and was midway through his meal when he spotted a worm in the dish. Disturbed by the discovery, he immediately raised the issue with the restaurant staff but alleged that they were reluctant to acknowledge the matter at first. “It was only after I started recording a video of the worm inside the food and the staff members' response that they started apologising,” the customer said. A video now circulating online shows the customer pointing out the worm in a spoonful of pongal while partially panning the camera across the outlet. He is also seen discussing the possibility of escalating the matter by contacting the cafe owner through Instagram. In the video, one staff member is heard asking, “Have I spoken in an inappropriate way?” after the customer confronts them. Eventually, the cafe refunded Rs 300 for the meal in question. Video: There was no immediate response from the cafe’s management at the time of publishing this report.
