The Welsh Rugby Union has overturned the result of a top-of-the-table club match after reviewing video evidence.
The fixture between Abercrave RFC and Heol Y Cyw earlier this month was initially recorded as a 31-29 victory for the away team but was immediately questioned by the home side who believed they had actually won 29-28.
The first score was posted on the WRU website but has now been updated to the second after Abercrave sent footage of the entire match to officials.
The game ended in confusion when Heol Y Cyw were awarded a penalty kick in the last play of the game. One of their players asked the referee the score and was told his team were winning 31-29. He kicked the ball out to end the match.
But that crucial mistake actually saw Heol Y Cyw condemned to defeat in what was a thrilling game between the two best teams in the League Two West Central division.
Posting to Facebook at the time, Abercrave wrote: "What a Win! Still some controversy which needs sorting with the WRU but lucky Veo (video technology) was on hand recording everything. Enjoy the night boys, you deserve it!"
Heol Y Cyw remain top of the division on 60 points, with Abercrave second on 50. Both teams look certain to gain promotion at the end of the season.
