Zach Braff recalls Harrison Ford saying he 'feels bad' for looking away from tourist trams

If you thought you saw Harrison Ford during a studio tour at Warner Bros. Studio, no you didn't.
Appearing alongside longtime collaborator Bill Lawrence at ATX TV Festival over the weekend, Zach Braff let the audience in on how Ford, whom he has collaborated with on Apple TV+'s Shrinking, evades tourist trams while navigating the Warner Bros. lot in Burbank.
"The first time I met Harrison, he has this golf cart and he goes, 'Come on, I’ll take you for a ride,'" Braff recalled. "And I'm like, 'My god, I'm in a f---ing golf cart with Harrison Ford. We’re riding around and while the trams go by, I notice him sort of gently look away."
When Braff asked Harrison if he has ever waved to the unassuming tourists passing through the storied lot, "He goes, 'No, no. I look away. But I do feel bad about it!'"
Braff was among the many pals and collaborators who joined Lawrence, creator of such hits as Braff's Scrubs, Shrinking, and dramedy series Bad Monkey, at the annual TV festival in Texas.
Braff and Lawrence sat down for an intimidate Sunday morning conversation called "Bad Advice, Great TV."
"I'm so humbled and grateful to be doing this," Lawrence said of his career in television. "I didn’t expect a career renaissance in my 50s. I get to tell Harrison Ford how to be funny." He added, "Part of the fun for me is watching Zach land in these worlds. Most actors and actresses, especially on that level, they’re guarded and you have to prove yourself to them. And watching Zach kind of win over Harrison has been a recent highlight for me."

After all, Ford is "as cantankerous as you can imagine," Lawrence quipped.
Braff has directed three episodes of Shrinking. Speaking to Collider last year, Braff called the ability to direct Ford "such a surreal exercise," adding, "I never get over it." He called Ford a "very receptive" collaborator.
"I've directed Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, Alan Arkin, Harrison Ford, and Ian Holm. I've directed some legends, and I will tell you this: they want a director just as much as anybody else," Braff said. "They don't want someone showing up and being intimidated. Everybody, no matter who you are as an actor, wants there to be a confident leader. So don't get me wrong, I definitely have to give myself a pep talk every now and then. But even though he's Harrison Ford, he wants someone with a vision of how the scene is gonna go and how the episode is gonna go."
