'I love him and I am sorry' - Sha'Carri Richardson apologises to boyfriend Christian Coleman, takes full accountability for domestic violence arrest

Sha'Carri Richardson shared a video on her Instagram story taking full responsibility of her domestic violence assault against boyfriend Christian Coleman, and penned a public apology to him.
Following her recent arrest at the airport for domestic violence assault against boyfriend Christian Coleman, Sha'Carri Richardson has issued an apology in this regard.
The reigning world 100m champion addressed the situation, taking full responsibility in a video posted on her Instagram story Monday night.
Richardson said she put herself in a "compromised situation."
"Above all else, for certain, a lot of self-reflection, a lot of consciousness of not only putting myself in a vulnerable situation with somebody who I care about and have a lot of respect for, is something that holding me accountable.
"I'm taking this time to not just look at myself but to get to a certain level of help that overall will correctly represent who I truly am in my heart and my spirit, and not allowing this time but welcoming this time to be more."
She also appreciated her fans for not only supporting her but also holding her to high standards during a challenging time.
"And so, I really appreciate you all supporting me and showing up and even holding me accountable for being my best self," she continued.
"So, more than anything, I refuse to run away and face whatever comes head-on because everything on the other side is greater, but you've got to get through to get there."
Sha'Carri Richardson pens heartfelt apology note to Christian Coleman
After posting the video, Richardson issued a written apology to Coleman on Tuesday morning.
“I APOLOGIZE TO CHRISTIAN. HE CAME INTO MY LIFE & GAVE ME MORE THAN A RELATIONSHIP BUT A GREATER UNDERSTANDING OF UNCONDITIONAL LOVE FROM WHAT I’VE EXPERIENCED IN MY PAST. DUE TO MY PAST TRAUMA & PAIN, I WAS BLIND & BLOCKED OFF TO NOT ONLY RECEIVE IT BUT GIVE IT,” wrote Richardson in all capital letters on her Instagram story.
"I love him & to him I can't apologize enough," she added. "My apologies should be just as loud as my actions, honestly louder. To Christian, I'm sorry, and I'm so sorry."
Sha'Carri Richardson's arrest
The 25-year-old sprint queen was arrested July 27 on a fourth-degree domestic violence offense for allegedly assaulting Coleman at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.
She was booked into South Correctional Entity in Des Moines, Washington, for more than 18 hours before she was released after Coleman refused to be the victim or press charges.
Richardson's arrest was days before she ran the 100 meters at the U.S. championships in Eugene, Oregon.
