Ahead of the final Grand Slam Track in Philadelphia, Kenny Bednarek has turned his attention to top sprinters that he wants to see; calling out Noah Lyles and Letsile Tebogo directly.
Following an outstanding start to the 2025 season in the Grand Slam Track League, Kenny Bednarek has called out Noah Lyles and Letsile Tebogo as rivals he would love to face in the last leg of the league in Los Angeles.
The Paris Olympics 200m silver medallist has had an unbeaten individual run this season, winning all his five races, with his latest on Day 1 of the Philadelphia Slam, in which he dominated the 200m field in an impressive time and facility record of 19.95s (0.0).
Speaking after the race, Bednarek said he's ready to face Olympic champions Lyles and Tebogo or anyone, sending an invitation to them ahead of the last Slam city in Los Angeles.
"Anybody I said. Noah (Lyles) can show up, Erriyon (Knighton) can show up, Tebogo can show up. I've mentioned that several times, the invitation has been sent, so it's up to them whether they want to do it or not. Obviously, it's a long season so their coach and them have different plans, but it'll be nice to see one of them," he said, on who he would prefer to face in the Short Sprints category.
Bednarek has conveniently won the first two legs of the Grand Slam Track in the Short Sprints category in Kingston and Miami, pocketing winning prize money of $100,000 from each city.
He's on course to win his third in Philadelphia after his domineering 200m victory, he'll gun to extend his winning streak in the 100m on Day 2 but will face top challengers in teen sensation Christian Miller, Great Britain's Zharnel Hughes, and Christian Coleman.
Another victory would grant him the bragging rights of a third Grand Slam Championship title and the associated prize, boosting his confidence as the season unfolds.
However, he is yet to face Olympic champions Lyles (100m) and Tebogo (200m). If the GST league organizers can facilitate this match-up, the final leg in LA will be a highly anticipated meet to watch.
