The zonal winners from the six geopolitical zones of the country will be in Lagos for the last stage of this year’s 17th Inter State Emeka Anyaoku Football tournament.
The teams will start arriving from their various states on May 18 while the tournament will kick off on May 25.
The qualified teams are Osogbo Babes FC (Osun State); Ekimogun Boys FC (Ondo State); First Class Boys FC (Lagos State); Atiba United (Oyo State); Anaocha United FC (Anambra State); Igbo Eze Babes FC (Enugu State) and Eze Kalu Boys (Imo State).
Others are Agu Bolo Babes FC (Rivers State); Young Elite FC (Bayelsa State); Warriors Boys FC (Kogi State); Ilorin United FC (Kwara State); Muhammed FC (Niger State); Bullet Boys FC (Taraba State); Brain Babes FC (Yobe State); Shagari Boys (Sokoto State) and Kazuare United FC (Kano State).
According to one of the officials of the tournament, the former Secretary General of the Commonwealth is sponsoring the tournament in order to make the youths busy and promote grassroot soccer.
The final closing ceremony has been fixed for Sunday, September 21, 2025.
