CLEVELAND, Ohio – Eight Ohio breweries won 11 World Beer Cup awards, led by a trio of beers from Fat Head’s Brewery. The Ohio Craft Brewers Association says this is the state’s second best showing at the World Beer Cup, behind only the 2022 competition, when 13 breweries garnered 15 awards. Fat Head’s has now won 19 awards in World Beer Cup competition, with at least one WBC award in each competition dating to 2012.Eighty-Three Brewing in Akron won its first World Beer Cup award. The brewery, which opened in 2019, is located in the historic Goodyear headquarters on East Market St. This year, 1,761 breweries from 49 countries submitted 8,375 beers for judging in 117 style categories.
