Sunrisers Hyderabad opening batter Abhishek Sharma entered his name in the history books on Saturday (April 12) by scoring the second fastest century in the Indian Premier League by a Sunrisers Hyderabad batter. The 24-year-old left-handed batter from Punjab, who was retained for Rs 14 crore by the Hyderabad-based franchise ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction, needed just 40 balls on Saturday to score his maiden IPL century for SRH against Punjab Kings in the IPL 2025 match currently underway at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. Travis Head holds the record for scoring the fastest century in the IPL for SRH. During the IPL 2024 match played between SRH and RCB at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, Head crossed the 100-run mark in just 39 balls.
