@Source: news18.com
Aneet Padda, who’s currently basking in the love and rave reviews pouring in for her blockbuster debut Saiyaara, just had a very Indian rite of passage — her first-ever cup of chai! Aneet was a self-confessed ‘chai virgin’ until a few days ago, when she was handed a warm cup of masala chai. What happened next was both hilarious and heartwarming. “I have never had chai. This is my first time having chai. I lost my chai virginity. I must say, Sudama, I had a great time,” Aneet says in the clip, holding the cup like it’s a suspicious potion. The video is making the rounds on fan pages and social media, with people gushing over her innocence. Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda’s first film Saiyaara is going strong and shows no signs of slowing down. Directed by Mohit Suri, this romantic drama has done really well in theatres, earning over Rs 150 crore worldwide in just four days. After a strong opening weekend, the film held remarkably steady on its first Monday, earning Rs 24 crore. That pushed the India net total to Rs 108 crore, with a gross of Rs 128 crore. The international box office is picking up too. Saiyaara has collected over Rs 23 crore overseas by Monday, bringing its worldwide total to Rs 151 crore. The film has now outperformed the lifetime earnings of Kesari Chapter 2 (Rs 144 crore) and Sky Force (Rs 146 crore), both starring Akshay Kumar. That’s a huge feat for a film led by newcomers. But what’s really got everyone talking is that Saiyaara has now beaten the worldwide box office total of Aashiqui 2! Released in 2013, Aashiqui 2 was a massive hit — it made people cry, fall in love, and hum its songs nonstop. With Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead, the tragic love story and unforgettable music (hello, Tum Hi Ho and Sunn Raha Hai) made it a fan favourite. The film was made on a small budget of just ₹15 crore but ended up earning over ₹110 crore globally. It turned the lead actors into stars and firmly established Mohit Suri as the king of emotional love stories. Now, years later, his new film Saiyaara has gone even bigger!
