Ahead of the Rugby Premier League, Anil Kapoor went on a trip down memory lane, reminiscing his conversations about the sport with Dil Dhadakne Do co-star Rahul Bose. Wondering, why? Well, Bose who is fond of Rugby, as he told Anil during the shooting of their film, is currently the President of the Indian Rugby Football Union. The actor was also a national team player for 11 years. In a note shared on Instagram stories, Anil reflected on Rahul Bose’s love for Rugby, writing, “Even while shooting Dil Dhadakne Do, Rahul would keep talking about rugby, and now the Rugby Premier League starts next month. I’m so happy for him. He just sent me this anthem and I thought it was pretty cool! Have a listen!” Directed by Zoya Akhtar, Dil Dhadakne Do features Shefali Shah, Priyanka Chopra, Ranveer Singh, Anushka Sharma and Farhan Akhtar in key roles, of course, apart from Anil Kapoor and Rahul Bose. While Anil plays a business tycoon in the film, Rahul is seen as his son-in-law, married to his daughter Priyanka Chopra’s Ayesha. Backed by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar under the Excel Entertainment banner, the family entertainer was released in 2015. In other news, Anil Kapoor has been roped in to play a key role in Shah Rukh Khan and director Siddharth Anand’s collaboration project, King. The film, which also stars Deepika Padukone, Abhay Verma and Suhana Khan, is scheduled to release by the end of next year. According to Pinkvilla, Anil Kapoor plays Shah Rukh Khan’s handler and mentor in the film, guiding the latter through a gritty world of espionage. “There were several actors in contention, but Anil Kapoor was unanimously chosen for the part. His on-screen charisma and experience bring just the right weight to the role,” a source close to the development told the portal. The project is in the final stages of pre-production and is expected to go on the floors this month. Following its India schedule, the unit will jet off to film for its Europe leg. The source continued, “It presents Shah Rukh Khan in a never-before-seen avatar—raw, rooted, and emotionally intense. The action will balance slick choreography with realism, making it a true event film.” King marks Anil Kapoor’s second collaboration with Siddharth Anand after Fighter.
