Throughout June, the initiative honours the area’s deep LGBTQIA+ roots with vibrant public art, performances and support for queer-owned businesses—culminating in the NYC Pride March kickoff at 26th Street and Fifth Avenue.
FIFA Club World Cup | New York City & New Jersey | June/July 2025
Tickets are now on sale for the inaugural Club World Cup, which will feature 32 teams playing across the US this summer. New York City/New Jersey will host the final, three knockout ties and five group-stage matches. The five group-stage matches will take place on June 15, 17, 19, 21 and 23 with the quarterfinals taking place on July 5, the semifinals on July 8–9 and the final on July 13.

New York City Tourism + Conventions’ new, immersive tourism campaign, Founded By NYC, will celebrate 400 years of NYC in 2025 and 250 years of America in 2026, highlighting enduring contributions to the City and the US by notable New Yorkers. The campaign will focus on inclusivity, acknowledgment and education, sharing the important perspectives of marginalized audiences including those of the Indigenous community, women, LGBTQ+ folks and people of color. FIFA has announced New York/New Jersey as the host city for the 2026 World Cup final. In addition to the final game on July 19, New York/New Jersey will host games on June 13, June 16, June 22, June 25, June 27, June 30 and July 5.

One of golf’s four major championships, the U.S. Open is known for its challenging courses and rigorous competition among the world’s top players.
Sail4th 250 | New York City & New Jersey | July 3–9, 2026
NYC and New Jersey will host the capstone events to kick off the 250th anniversary of America’s Independence. From July 3–9, the largest-ever international flotilla of ships and vessels will sail into New York Harbor. The celebration will also host many festivities including firework displays by Macy’s, an International Aerial Review with a special performance from the Blue Angels, food festivals, a special Fleet Week and more.
Army-Navy Football Game Presented by USAA | New York City & New Jersey | December 2026
NYC, along with the state of New Jersey, will be the host city for the Army-Navy Football Game Presented by USAA in 2026. The game will be hosted at the MetLife Stadium as part of the 25th anniversary of 9/11 and will be the 19th time the game has been played in New York or New Jersey.
