The Indian domestic cricket season will kick off on August 28, with six teams competing for the Duleep Trophy. The 2025/26 Duleep Trophy is set to be a star-studded affair as many capped players will be part of it. Arjun Tendulkar, who plays for Goa in domestic cricket, was expected to make it to the North East Zone squad but he was ignored. Arjun scalped 16 wickets in four matches in the plate group of the Ranji Trophy. Goa went on to win the plate division title. Arjun has been with Goa since the 2022/23 season. The bowling all-rounder made a memorable debut for Goa and slammed a century in his maiden first-class game in December 2023. He has 37 wickets and 532 runs in first-class cricket. Arjun, who made his List A debut for Goa in November 2022, has 25 wickets and 102 runs in 18 matches. He made his T20 debut for Mumbai before switching his base to Goa. Arjun has also played for Mumbai Indians (MI) in IPL. He has been with MI since 2021. Ruturaj will play under Shardul Thakur's captaincy in the first-class tournament. He made it to the Test team in 2023 but is uncapped in the format. He is capped in ODIs and T20Is. Shubman, the present India Test captain, will lead North Zone in the Duleep Trophy. North Zone will face East Zone in the first game of the tournament from August 28 to 31. North East Zone will take on Dhruv Jurel-led Central Zone. The final of the Duleep Trophy is scheduled to be played from September 11 to 15. All the matches will be played at the BCCI Centre of Excellence.
