Arne Slot facing Man City ban amid Premier League confusion after Liverpool anger

Liverpool manager Arne Slot could be banned from the touchline for his side's heavyweight clash vs Manchester City next weekend following his controversial red card at the end of their draw with Everton.
Tempers flared after Everton scored a 98th-minute equaliser in the final Merseyside derby at Goodison Park, with four red cards after the final whistle including for Liverpool boss Slot - who had approached referee Michael Oliver and seemingly said something to the official to earn the sending off.
That earns him a two match suspension, with the Premier League publishing what looked like confirmation of a touchline ban for 'using offensive, insulting or abusive language.'
That would rule Slot out of their games vs Wolves and Aston Villa this week ahead of their trip to the Etihad Stadium to face City next Sunday. However, that confirmation was later deleted, with new confusion over when the touchline ban will kick in.
Red cards for managers and coaches usually only result in a one-match ban. And according to reports, the FA has three working days to decide whether to charge Slot for his actions at Goodison Park. If they take those full three days, Slot would be free to take charge against Wolves this weekend. If he was then given a two-match ban that would subsequently ban him from the touchline at the Etihad against City.
Curtis Jones, who was sent off at full-time for his reaction to Abdoulaye Doucoure's celebrations, will miss Liverpool's fixture at Wolves and be available to face City. Slot's assistant Sipke Hulshoff is also facing a one-match ban for his red card in the same game.
