Atlanta United kicked off the 2025 MLS season in thrilling fashion, defeating CF Montréal 3-2 at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
The Five Stripes dominated the match, especially in the first half, with nine shots on goal with a goal.
The goal came on the 41st minute, through new signing, Latte Lath from a corner kick for his first goal with the club.
Montréal responded in the 47th minute with a goal from Nathan Saliba, but Atlanta United regained the lead in the 63rd minute courtesy, another goal from Lath.
Germany based Ghanaian, Prince Owusu level the score to make it 2:2. Before substitute Edwin Mosquera given the home side the much needed winning goal.
With this 3:2 win, Atlanta United sets a positive tone for the 2025 season, and fans will be expecting to see such wins continue.
