CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace women’s basketball season came to an end on Saturday after a 60-53 loss to Wisconsin Oshkosh in the Elite 8 round of the Division III NCAA Tournament, held on the campus of Illinois Wesleyan University.

The Yellow Jackets fell behind early, heading into the second quarter down 21-9, and were never able to make a full comeback. Oshkosh led by as much as 17, and the Yellow Jackets never held the lead over the course of the game, despite coming back to within three points on two separate occasions, including with 0:11 seconds remaining.
The Yellow Jackets, who usually thrive off of their bench play, were outscored off the bench in this game, 27-9.
Additionally, the Yellow Jackets lost both the turnover and foul battles. They committed nine turnovers (which led to 13 points for Oshkosh) and forced only five (which they turned into only two points). They also committed 16 personal fouls to Oshkosh’s nine, which led to Oshkosh shooting 14 of 17 from the line (BW went 6 for 8).
However, they held their own in the 3-point game, shooting a respectable 7 of 24 from beyond the arc. They also led on the glass, pulling down 36 boards to Oshkosh’s 28. However, these weren’t enough to get them to the final four.
