Bayern Munich 1 Celtic 1 (3-2 on agg): Scots dumped OUT of Champions League after heartbreaking goal in dying seconds
@Source: thesun.co.uk
CELTIC saw a place in the last 16 of the Champions League snatched away at the last second as they suffered heartbreak in Bavaria.
The Scottish side looked to be on the brink of forcing extra-time in a historic night in Germany against Bayern Munich, but ultimately fell to the quality of one of European football's best sides.
A valiant effort from Brendan Rodgers' side came tumbling down in the dying embers as Alphonso Davies netted a 94th minute equaliser to win the game 3-2 on aggregate - drawing 1-1 on the night.
Celtic had taken the lead on the night through Nicolas Kuhn in the 63rd minute when Kim Min-Jae horribly mistimed a sliding tackle and virtually gifted the opportunity to German forward.
From then on it was a backs against the wall performance for Celtic, but as hard as they tried to keep the ball out, a relentless wave of Bayern attacks saw the ball trickle over the line in the most heartbreaking way.
A delicious cross was delivered in and landed perfectly on the head of Harry Kane, only for Kasper Schmeichel to pull off a cat-like save.
Unfortunatley that save landed back at the feet of Bayern and in an attempt to make a tackle, a Celtic defender kicked the ball directly into Davies.
The Canadian's presence meant that the ball ricocheted off him and over the line to end the game Celtic's European journey.
