Fans of The Traitors have expressed their dismay upon realising a popular television star is missing from the roster for the BBC's forthcoming celebrity series. The lineup brimming with 19 celebrities prepped to enter the fray on Celebrity Traitors, with Claudia Winkleman at the helm, was unveiled this Tuesday. The cast boasts several notable names such as Stephen Fry, Ruth Codd, Celia Imrie, Tameka Empson, and Mark Bonnar from the acting world. Comedians like Alan Carr, Nick Mohammed, Joe Wilkinson, and Lucy Beaumont are set to join the fold, alongside musical talents Paloma Faith, Cat Burns, and Charlotte Church. Yet there was one particular persona that several fans were eager to spot within the walls of Ardross Castle, reports Surrey Live . Viewers were anticipating the comedic stylings of Bob Mortimer, aged 65, in the programme only to be greeted by the news of his absence. Disappointed fans did not hesitate to air their frustrations on X, previously known to many as Twitter . One lamented simply: "NO BOB MORTIMER." Another expressed their discontent, writing: "No Bob Mortimer? Gutted." While a third remarked: "I was promised Bob Mortimer." Some couldn't comprehend the show without him, with reactions like: "WHERE IS BOB MORTIMER WHATS THE POINT." Another viewer stated indifferently: "Where is Bob Mortimer? At least I don't need to watch it now he isn't in." And an equally disgruntled fan chimed in with: "No Bob Mortimer. Booooooooooooooo." Amid the growing anticipation for Celebrity Traitors, those at the BBC went to great lengths to shield the identities of the participants until the official announcement, this coming after a spate of leaks. According to The Sun, bosses have organised a military-style operation to transport the star-studded cast to Ardross Castle. Rather than flying into Inverness Airport from their homes worldwide, the celebrities will journey via various modes of transport including train, plane, car, and boat. Moreover, an official no-fly zone has been established over host Claudia's Highlands HQ to prevent drone photographers from capturing any images. A source revealed to the publication: "For a show with secrecy and shocking plot twists at its heart, navigating the celebrity version has been a real puzzler. "Casting personalities like TV presenter Kate Garraway, ex-rugby player Joe Marler, and singer Paloma Faith creates a situation that is much more susceptible to leaks and gossip than recruiting a call centre manager from Liverpool or a retired opera singer. So execs have worked really hard to secure every aspect of the production." The source further stated that instead of a straightforward travel process, celebrities will arrive using different means of transport. The source also asserted that a no-fly zone has already been implemented to prevent any preparations from being photographed. The Traitors seasons 1-3 are available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
