South Africa’s Blitzboks wrapped up a disappointing Hong Kong Sevens campaign, finishing ninth in the prestigious World Rugby Sevens Series event.
They failed to reach the Cup quarterfinals for the first time this season but secured a narrow 19-17 win over Kenya in their playoff match.
Despite likely retaining fourth place in the overall standings after five events, the Blitzboks lost ground to series leaders Argentina and Fiji, both of whom reached the Cup semifinals.
Argentina will face Australia, while Fiji takes on Olympic champions France in the last four, with matches set to begin at 8:00.
