BMW Championship 2025 Prize Money: How Much Pros Earn Across Every Finish Spot
@Source: timesnownews.com
The FedEx Cup playoffs' second round, the 2025 BMW Championship, will bring top players back to Caves Valley Golf Club in Owings Mills, Maryland. Notably, the winner will receive a substantial $3.6 million, with a $20 million purse at stake. A very competitive field will compete on Sunday for a chance to advance to the Tour Championship in addition to financial gain. In a tight three-hole playoff at the previous week's opener in Memphis, Justin Rose overtook JJ Spaun with a barrage of birdies on the back nine at TPC Southwind. Tommy Fleetwood came within striking distance but lost by one shot due to an expensive bogey. Five players earned spots in the top 50, while five others dropped out when the competition rearranged the rankings. Golfers are fighting for the 30 berths at East Lake's final in Atlanta, now down to the top 50 FedEx Cup players, or 49 on the course. Fifth-place finisher Sepp Straka withdrew for personal reasons, but he still finished in the top 30. Following a tie for third place last week, world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler is at the top of the pack. However, despite missing the opening match, Rory McIlroy remains at No. 2, followed by Rose, Straka, and Spaun. The US Ryder Cup berths increase pressure in addition to FedEx points. Following this competition, the top six automatic qualifiers—Scheffler, Spaun, Xander Schauffele, Russell Henley, Bryson DeChambeau, and Harris English—will lock in. Following the Tour Championship, the remaining six will be chosen by captain Keegan Bradley, who won the BMW at Castle Pines the previous year. Bradley is ranked tenth, followed by Ben Griffin, Justin Thomas, and Collin Morikawa.
