Body found in search for Adeo weeks after going missing as family remembers 'vibrant and talented human being'

A body was found in the search for a man almost five weeks after first going missing in the Cheadle area, his heartbroken family have announced. Adeo Alston-Ekpei was reported as missing after last being seen on May 16 on Kingsway. Details emerged revealing that Adeo was last seen having visited the grounds of Cheadle Cricket Club before walking back up Kingsway towards Gatley Road the evening he disappeared. Greater Manchester Police launched a major investigation, following up multiple lines of enquiry and large-scale ground and underwater searches as part of efforts to find him. Join our Stockport WhatsApp group HERE There was then tragedy in Cheadle on Wednesday morning (June 18) after the body of a man was found on School Hills at around 10.45am. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, and Greater Manchester Police said there are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances. Adeo's family have since confirmed to the Manchester Evening News that the body was believed to be that of the missing 25-year-old and that formal identification is currently taking place for a file to be prepared for the coroner. They shared a new photo of him as they paid an emotional tribute to the 'vibrant and talented human being' and thanked police for their efforts in the month-long search. "We are deeply saddened by the loss of our beautiful Adeo. He touched the lives of so many," they told the M.E.N. "The enormity of support and love shown by the public, friends and strangers through sharing Adeo's appeal is a testament to the passionate way he lived his life. "We are so grateful for all the energy put into this search by Detective Inspector Gary Kelly and his team at West Didsbury CID who worked tirelessly to get us answers. "As a family we now have the closure to carry on as best we can and honour Adeo's memory in everything we do. He was vibrant, hilarious, kind and an incredibly talented human being. "We look forward to celebrating his life to the fullest in the coming weeks. In the words of Adeo, signing off- Love, Love."
