Coronation Street’s Amy James-Kelly is making a return to our screens, 10 years on from her soap alter-egos shocking and unexpected death.
The star portrayed Maddie Heath in Corrie from 2013-2015. She was introduced as a teenager sleeping rough, who met Sophie Webster (Brooke Vincent) and Sally (Sally Dynevor) when they were working at a soup kitchen.
In 2014, Sophie and Maddie started seeing each other. As a result of Sally refusing to accept their relationship, Sophie and Maddie started sleeping on the streets. That was, until, Sophie’s dad Kevin (Michael Le Vell) allowed the pair to move into Number 13.
Maddie eventually settled into life in Weatherfield. She started a job at Underworld, and enjoyed talking to Sophie about going on holiday together.

Sadly, their future was stolen from them when Maddie died in 2015.
After discovering Jenny (Sally Ann Matthews) trying to kidnap Kevin’s son Jack, she raced to tell Sophie and Kevin, but got caught up in the explosion at the Builder’s Yard, which only happened as a result of a fire in Victoria Court.
Maddie was rushed to hospital, but died at the age of 18.
Amy, who is now 30, will soon swap ITV for the BBC as she joins the cast of the new series of Industry.
