Punjab Kings pacer Arshdeep Singh had a hilariously honest chat with Rajasthan Royals opener Yashasvi Jaiswal after their high-intensity clash in IPL 2025 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Sunday (May 18).
Jaiswal hit a 25-ball 50 in the match. He started superbly against the in-form Arshdeep, scoring four boundaries and a six in his first over, racing to 22 off 6. Arshdeep didn’t come up against him again but had a rough day overall, conceding 60 runs in his four overs without any wickets.
Still, he remained upbeat afterwards. In a video posted on his official Instagram channel, the pacer can be heard telling Jaiswal, in typical Bollywood style, ‘Bohot maara be, dhaaga hi khol diya’ (You smashed me very hard, man). To this, the RR opener replied, ‘Ekdum, maine bola tha isko, mai maarunga ek din’ (Absolutely, I told him that I’ll do that to him one day). Watch the wholesome video here:

Despite their contrasting performances, it was PBKS that came on top. Jaiswal’s 50 earned him the Orange Cap, but he was dismissed by Harpreet Brar, who also got the wicket of Vaibhav Suryavanshi. Despite being 76/0 before the fifth over, RR stumbled 10 runs short of the 219-run target.
Brar was adjudged the Player of the Match for his performance.
“Feels good,” Brar said after the match, as quoted by ESPNcricinfo. “I want to dedicate this award to my wife. This is my first Player of the Match award after marriage. Ponting sir has motivated me, worked on a lot of things. My plans were clear – I knew they would look to attack me. The way the wicket was behaving, the way they were batting, I had only one thing in mind – not to give easy boundary balls. I have been working with Sunil Joshi for a few years. Taught me about using the crease, reading batters. [On being the second spinner behind Chahal] When he came into the team, I felt it would be easy to bowl in partnership with him. Cricket is a funny game, I knew I would grab opportunity whenever I would get the chance,” he added.
