By the time Bon Jovi released Slippery When Wet in the summer of 1986, the band had already scored several hits and established itself as an exciting new name on the harder side of the genre. It was that title, though, that rocketed the New Jersey musicians to superstardom all around the world, and it’s that collection that not only returns to the charts in the United Kingdom this week, but manages to debut on several lists — decades after it was first shared.
Slippery When Wet appears on three charts in the U.K. this frame. It debuts on two of them, and it returns to a third, where it currently sits highest. Amazingly, despite the fact that it has sold millions and millions of copies all around the world for many years, Bon Jovi’s blockbuster is new to two of the three U.K.-based tallies it sits on this frame.
Bon Jovi’s Classic Album Debuts
The title enters the Official Albums Sales chart at No. 14 and comes in one space beneath that rung on the Official Vinyl Albums ranking.
Bon Jovi earns its seventh placement on the Official Vinyl Albums chart as Slippery When Wet debuts. The group has collected just two more placements on the all-encompassing album sales roster.
Slippery When Wet Returns
Slippery When Wet is also back on the Official Physical Albums chart, though it’s not new to that tally. Bon Jovi has now kept the project somewhere on that ranking for 31 nonconsecutive frames throughout the years. This period is still special for the title, as it reappears at No. 13 on the Official Physical Albums list, establishing a new all-time high.
Before this frame, the title had previously peaked at No. 34, a position it reached back in 1994. It hasn't been found on the ranking of the bestselling physical collections in the U.K. for nearly 30 years, but now it's back and bigger than ever.

Bon Jovi’s Collector’s Edition Vinyl Release
Bon Jovi’s classic is a hit once more after the band released a collector’s edition on vinyl. The album, which was limited to a little more than 1,000 copies, is actually filled with water, making it not only thematically relevant to the title, but a fun, gimmicky new addition to any collector’s record shelf. It appears that the supply sold out almost immediately, which helps Bon Jovi score its new win in the U.K. this week.
