John Ntim Fordjour, MP for Assin South, is in good spirits following an attempted arrest by the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB).​ On April 9, 2025, NIB officials reportedly surrounded Rev. Ntim Fordjour’s residence in Spintex, Accra, aiming to detain him over allegations he made concerning two suspicious flights at Kotoka International Airport, which he suggested were linked to drug trafficking and money laundering. ​ Members of the Minority in Parliament, along with New Patriotic Party (NPP) executives, intervened, arguing that the NIB operatives lacked an arrest warrant and were not adhering to due legal procedures.
