Call For United, Concrete Efforts From World Leaders To Root Out Terrorism

Hyderabad:Outrage over the terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, has poured in from across India, including all sections of the Telugu-speaking states. People called for sincere and stringent efforts from the Indian government to ensure such incidents do not recur.Vinod Rao Banja, brother of 26/11 terror victim Vijay Rao Banja, described the Pahalgam incident as extremely shocking. He called for united efforts from the peace-loving world community and strong global leaders to take stringent measures to eradicate terrorism, so that future generations may live in peace.“Terrorism is a dastardly act perpetrated by cowards who believe they are powerful because they are armed. If they truly have courage, let them join the army and fight like soldiers,” he said.Dr Parveen Sultana of Secunderabad called the attack a cowardly, inhumane, and senseless act of violence. “Zero tolerance towards such violence must be adopted. We need to work collaboratively to ensure that such ghastly incidents never happen again. There must be concerted efforts to bring justice to the innocent tourists who lost their lives for no reason,” she said.Shaik Mahaboob Basha, assistant director (Official Language) at EPFO, Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh, said an efficient intelligence system is essential to curb terrorism.“The intelligence network must be strengthened. Greater focus is needed on border security. The strongest action should be taken against Pakistan,” Basha said.G. Damayanti, a government employee, said those in power must take responsibility for the safety of the people. “People’s safety is of utmost importance, and proper security measures should be in place at sensitive and public locations. Border security must be reinforced to prevent infiltration,” she said.Ram Vemireddy, Founder & CEO of Varcas Automobiles, said violence and terrorism in any form have no place in a civilised society. “This senseless violence and terrorism serve as a reminder of the need for unity, compassion, and an unwavering stand against terror,” he said.
