Canton Field House nets a big positive after several bricks to new OHSAA seven-division basketball format: Takeaways on the road to Dayton
@Source: cleveland.com
CANTON, Ohio — Stark County could not have had more of a home-court advantage had the Ohio High School Athletic Association chosen Louisville or Massillon Perry as hosts for the state semifinals.
Neither of those schools and their supporters had to drive more than 10 miles to the Canton Memorial Field House on Sunday to play North Royalton and Garfield Heights. If OHSAA executive director Doug Ute or any of the board of directors who last year passed the move from four to seven divisions in basketball watched the feed from Spectrum, the sold-out crowds had to give them a feeling of justification.
