Carl Mullan is laughing all the way to the bank as income at his private firm, Higher Power Productions Limited, has more than doubled over the past year.
It's no secret that the RTÉ star has his finger in more than a few pies as he continues his successful radio career at the same time as podcasting, working on brand deals and social media influencing.
Per Extra.ie, his juggling act has started to pay off as profits at Higher Power Limited soared from €16,537 in 2023 to €42,528.
Carl has worked for RTÉ 2FM for over a decade, having originally joined as a media content coordinator in 2013.
He got his 'big break', if you will, in 2019 when he and Aifric O'Connell joined forces to co-host 2FM's Weekend Breakfast.
Two years later, he and former rugby player Donncha O'Callaghan joined Doireann Garrihy on the new 2FM breakfast show after Eoghan McDermott's departure.
A mass exodus at the station led to a shake-up, and now Carl co-hosts 2FM's breakfast show with Roz Purcell and Aisling Bonner.
In line with RTÉ’s external activities policy, Carl sought and received permission for his outside gigs and promotional work. The €42,528 recorded as income at Higher Power Productions Limited does not include his RTÉ salary.
Brand deals
Carl is a brand ambassador for Skoda Ireland. Aside from his other social media ads, he regularly shares clips of him jaunting around in €60,000 sponsored electric car from a Skoda motor dealership.
The dad-of-three has been given permission by RTÉ to promote his top-of-the-range sponsored Skoda.
Following in the footsteps of his former 2FM Breakfast co-hosts Doireann Garrihy and Donncha O'Callaghan, Carl launched his very own podcast, Phone Truths, in October 2024.
Phone Truths, which boasts an impressive guest roster from Pippa O'Connor and Rosie Connolly to Arthur Gourounlian and Baz Ashmawy, is sponsored by Sky Mobile.
Social media
Carl has built himself impressive platforms on social media, with over 416,000 followers on Instagram and a further 126,000 on TikTok.
Here, he shares unique and gas ads for brands such as Aer Lingus, Ariel, Pampers, Irish Life Health, and Lidl, to name but a few.
