Celebrities mark Independence Day with message of love, peace

F.P. Report KARACHI: As Pakistan marks its 78th Independence Day, celebrities across the country have joined millions of Pakistanis at home and abroad in celebrating the occasion with great zeal. Across social media, well-known Pakistani actors, musicians, and influencers are sharing messages of hope, unity, and resilience. Clad in the national colours of green and white, many stars draped themselves in the Pakistani flag and posted heartfelt tributes to the country. Their posts reflect both pride in Pakistan’s journey and a shared aspiration for a brighter, more stable future. Actor Aiman Khan shared her family photo with the caption, “Long live Pakistan.” Her husband Muneeb Butt and daughter Amal can be seen in the picture with a Pakistani flag. Actor Nadia Hussain talked about the people of Palestine on this Independence Day as they are facing the atrocities of Israeli forces. “This 14 August I surely have mixed feelings about celebrating our independence when I see millions of helpless people in dire need of freedom from their oppressors,” she said. Actor and model Zhalay Sarhadi said that independence should be celebrated with responsibility and morality. “May this 14th August bring a new wave of prosperity for our country and our countrymen and women. May we learn to use our independence with responsibility, humility, basic civic duty, ethics and morality,” she said. Earlier, the players of the Pakistan cricket team also felicitated the nation on the occasion of the Independence Day. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) shared a video featuring ODI captain Mohammad Rizwan, T20I skipper Salman Ali Agha, Babar Azam, other players and management. Mohammad Rizwan, in his message, congratulated the people of Pakistan on Independence Day. Salman Agha also congratulated people of Pakistan in his message and urged them to try to keep Pakistan clean. “Remember, it was on this day that Pakistan was created — a day that gave us our identity and defined who we are as a nation,” Babar Azam said. The Independence Day celebrations serve as a reminder of collective strength and a continued belief that Pakistan can overcome its challenges with unity and determination. The nation celebrates the 78th Independence Day today (Thursday) with traditional zeal and enthusiasm and with renewed resolve to work with the spirit of Pakistan Movement to make the country a true Islamic welfare state. The day dawned with thirty-one gun salute in the federal capital and twenty-one gun salute in the provincial headquarters. Special prayers were offered after Fajr for security and progress of Pakistan and well-being of the people.
