Indian cricketer Rishabh Pant sustained a knee injury while training at the ICC Academy in Dubai. As per The Times of India, the wicketkeeper-batsman was struck on his left knee by a shot from Hardik Pandya, while he was practicing drills beside the net. Despite initial pain and limping, Pant was given medical attention and continued with his practice after strapping his knee. After the incident, Pandya immediately checked on his teammate's condition, the report added. Despite the discomfort, Pant managed to return to his feet post icing and limping. His left knee was heavily strapped before he headed to the change room. Showing resilience, he resumed padding up for a hit in the nets and even shared a light moment with teammate Axar Patel. Meanwhile, the Indian cricket team is gearing up for the Champions Trophy. Team India will play its first match against Bangladesh on February 20, followed by the much-awaited clash with Pakistan on February 23. Their last Group A match will be played on March 2 against New Zealand. India has won the Champions Trophy twice since its inception in 1998, and hopes to clinch a third title this year. Notably, Pant didn't play a single ODI against England in the three-match series. After the last match, head coach Gautam Gambhir had confirmed KL Rahul as India's first-choice wicketkeeper. However, Pant has been named the second wicketkeeper in the 15-member squad for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Indian fans are optimistic that he will recover from his injury and be ready to step up when required.
