HYDERABAD: The CID probe into Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) affairs is expected to target two more office-bearers over alleged violations linked to multiple club ownership, following a complaint received by the agency. Central to the case is Chitti Sridhar, secretary of the Acrylic Cricket Club, who has been asked to appear before the CID on Monday after filing a formal complaint with the HCA ethics officer. Sridhar alleged that the Ameerpet Cricket Club and Khalsa Cricket Club had been under the long-standing control of the family of acting president Sardar Daljeet Singh, in violation of rules meant to prevent multiple club ownership. He flagged proxy voting concerns, citing the sudden appointment of T. Basava Raju as vice-president of Ameerpet Cricket Club in 2023 despite his decades-long tenure in government service and previous representation of the Commercial Taxes Cricket Club. Sridhar argued that such manipulations undermine the integrity of HCA elections. He pointed to a July 2023 ruling by the single member committee that disqualified 57 members from participating in HCA polls due to conflicts of interest — a principle that he argued should apply to these two clubs as well. The apex council failed to act on these violations, he claimed. The present committee was allegedly trying to maintain its majority status in the apex council through moves such as revoking the suspensions of players’ representatives. The CID’s investigations have previously focused on forged documents allegedly used to secure control over the HCA presidency. Sridhar said political interference from the former BRS government blocked disqualifications that could have implicated HCA president Jagan Mohan Rao, who allegedly entered the association using falsified documents linking Sri Chakra Cricket Club with Gowlipura Cricket Club.Sridhar also criticised the HCA administration’s lack of response to his complaints, which he said were ignored because communication channels are controlled by Daljeet Singh and Basava Raju. Sridhar has demanded strict action against the two office bearers accused of multiple club ownership and has renewed calls for fresh elections to restore transparency and accountability. Jagan Mohan Rao.The officials examined bank statements of Devraj and his family members and reportedly found suspicious transactions. To seek clarification, they reviewed account files and records at the HCA office.
