Students of Wainikeli Junior Secondary School in Taveuni have the chance to enhance their digital skills following the donation of four HP full set computer desktops and a printer.
The kind gesture was made by Savusavu-based information technology (IT) company, Paradise Tech Traders, with assistance worth $3299.
Company director Shavneel Singh, is optimistic the assistance will benefit and help students develop their knowledge in IT.
“We are sure students are up to par with the digital era,” he said.
Head of school Eneriko Qalica, was overwhelmed with the assistance they would cherish for the rest of their life.
“Students have been advised to make wise use of resources that were offered,” he said.
They will be able to research and engage in extra learning from the internet to conduct tasks.
Mr Qalica said having computer sets available would be a morale booster for students of a rural-based school.
“What you have done for this school is great. There will be a lot of expectations from parents and students to perform,” he said.
A public plea was made seeking help with assistance of further resources.
The school requires more computers and school equipment until the grant comes in.
Mr Singh donated some cash towards the preparation for the school’s athletes to participate in the annual Coca-Cola Games in Suva.
“We have assisted other schools and local communities in anyway which is within our means,” he said.
