Coronation Street confirms return after 12 months - and Jenny will be heartbroken

Coronation Street is set to bring back a familiar face to Weatherfield next week, stirring up trouble for Jenny Connor.
As tensions mount following their recent argument, Daisy Midgeley confides in Daniel Osbourne, telling him that her stepmum Jenny has crossed the line this time.
Subsequently, Daisy's estranged mother, Christina Boyd, makes an unexpected entrance at the Rovers, with Daisy feigning shock.
As Christina begins to make herself known at the pub, Daisy confesses to Jenny she's uncertain if she can ever get past the hurtful comments she's made.
Yet, behind the scenes, it appears Daisy is plotting revenge as teasers show her and Christina drawing Jenny further into their web — as Jenny reveals she has met a great guy called 'Dom' on the dating app.
The plot thickens when they introduce a bouquet of flowers into the mix, and Christina sends an additional message. Concerns arise for Daisy who fears that soon Jenny will be keen to meet Dom in person, reports Leicestershire Live. Will their scheme be exposed, and how will Jenny react to this deep-seated deception?
This development coincides with news from actress Amy Robbins, who portrays Christina, announcing her return to the iconic cobbles earlier this year.
She stirred memories among soap enthusiasts, having last been seen on Coronation Street in April of the previous year.
Amy took to Instagram to share her excitement, posting a snapshot outside the Rovers Return Inn alongside actor Tony Maudsley (George Shuttleworth), captioning it: "Back at @coronationstreet with my bezzie!"
The actress initially debuted on the cobbles as Christina in 2023, making sporadic appearances until April 2024. Amy has also made her mark as Dr. Jill Weatherill in The Royal, Defence Barrister Milligan in Emmerdale, and Caren in EastEnders, among other roles.
In related news, Christina's comeback coincides with the departure of Daisy actress Charlotte Jordan from the ITV soap after a five-year stint.
Earlier this year, 29-year-old Charlotte spoke about her decision to leave the cobbles: "My time at Coronation Street is something I'll always cherish."
She went on to say: "After a brilliant four years for Daisy, it's time for me to start a new chapter and explore other opportunities."
Charlotte expressed gratitude towards her experience, stating: "It's been a privilege to be part of a wonderful institution with even more wonderful colleagues who have taught me so much."
As viewers eagerly await the details of Daisy's exit storyline, speculation arises whether her mother Christina's return will play a role in her departure.
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and ITV X.
