CORONATION Street fans were left fuming that a cobbles favourite 'deserved better' as she bowed out after 11 years.
Shelley King made her final appearance as Yasmeen Nazir in Monday's (March 10) episode.
The actress, 69, joined the ITV soap in 2014 and was notably at the centre of a high-profile coercive control storyline.
In her final scenes, Yasmeen departed Weatherfield for a new job in London.
Some fans were unhappy with the exit - and voiced their thoughts on social media.
One wrote on X: "Poor Yasmeen. One decent storyline a few years ago, then hardly anything.
"Shelley is a decent actress who deserved better."
Another added: "Yes a low-key exit for Yasmeen. She deserved better. So did Helen Worth."
A third penned: "I think Yasmeen deserved a better exit than she was given. It all seemed so rushed!
"From first mention of the job in London to actually leaving in a taxi was spread over about two episodes!
"The current writers and the producer are so clumsy and they couldn’t care less."
While a fourth chimed in: "Tim should have had a goodbye scene with Yasmeen given all their history."
A fifth remarked: "Farewell Yasmeen! I think she deserved a better exit than the usual soap trope of getting a job offer and packing your life away in the space of an episode!
"Would have liked to have seen another appearance of Ghost Geoff too! Hope she pops back for a visit sometime!"
The Sun revealed in January that Shelley would be leaving the ITV soap after over a decade as Yasmeen.
Meanwhile, her final scenes on the cobbles had already been filmed.
A TV insider said: "This will be another blow for fans of the show, as Yasmeen is a much-loved character who's part of the fabric of Corrie.
"She's had some huge storylines since she joined the soap in 2014, and she'll be sorely missed by cast and crew.
"It’s understood she is leaving so she can explore other projects."
Coronation Street continues on ITV1 and ITVX.
