Crusaders and All Blacks halfback Noah Hotham knows what to expect against the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua in tomorrow’s Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific clash at Suva’s HFC Stadium.
Hotham last came with the Crusaders in 2023 where they lost 24-25 to the Drua.
“I played in Lautoka that time,” he told yesterday.
“It’s amazing to play in Fiji. It’s one of my favourite places in the competition.”
Hotham said playing the Drua won’t be a walk in the park despite the fact they are coming in determined to end their losing streak here.
“It’ll be a very tough match and the Drua is a very good side. You circle in your calendar and you want to come here and get the job done”
Hotham’s grandmother, Elsie Felix, was born in Suva and was brought up in Levuka. She moved over to New Zealand with his grandfather and their daugther Diane Felix, is Hotham’s mum.
“I always love to talk about history with my grandmother. She lives in Australia right now but very proud to learn about the heritage of this beautiful country,” he said.
Lautoka-born Chay Fihaki said they are excited to be here.
“We know it’s going to be a tough game. The results haven’t gone our way for the last couple of years, but I am looking forward to the challenge this weekend.
“This will be our third time facing the Drua. We know, we’re not here on a holiday. We’re here to do our job. It’s a tough place to play, but I’m definitely looking forward to it, can’t wait.”
The match kicks-off at 3.35 pm.
