Superstar Milwaukee Bucks point guard Damian Lillard has a busy slate ahead of him at the Chase Center this weekend. The 6-foot-2 Weber State product was named to his ninth All-Star squad this season. The Oakland native is hoping to make some All-Star Weekend history beyond just appearing in yet another All-Star game, albeit this time in the form of a three-game mini-tournament.That's because, on Saturday, Lillard is looking to become the first player to three-point in the 3-Point Contest since 1992, when Chicago Bulls reserve combo guard Craig Hodges achieved the feat. Most memorably that day, Hodges at one point nailed 19 straight triple tries during the semifinal round. Can Lillard make history again? He's got a loaded group of competitors this year.Three-time All-Star New York Knicks point Jalen Brunson, two-time All-Star Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Darius Garland, Detroit Pistons All-Star point guard Cade Cunningham, Miami Heat All-Star shooting guard Tyler Herro, L.A. Clippers shooting guard Norman Powell Brooklyn Nets power forward Cameron Johnson, Golden State Warriors wing Buddy Hield comprise the rest of the event's hopefuls. This season, Lillard is connecting on 38.2 percent of his 9.1 long-range attempts a night. At 43.8 percent shooting on 6.9 looks beyond the 3-point arc, Garland is the most efficient distance sniper of the bunch. According to BetMGM, Lillard is the favorite to win his third straight 3-Point Contest title this season with +400 odds.Last year marked his first with Milwaukee following an 11-season stint with the Portland Trail Blazers. He remains a lethal scorer, even at age 34, but he's not quite the All-NBA talent he was in his absolute prime.Lillard will be the only Bucks player in Sunday's All-Star mini-tournament, as fellow nine-timer Giannis Antetokounmpo is on the shelf with a left calf strain.More Milwaukee Bucks News: Trae Young Replaces Giannis Antetokounmpo in 2025 NBA All-Star GameBut Lillard will not be the only Milwaukee player traveling to town for the festivities.Starting Bucks shooting guard Andre Jackson Jr. is partaking in the AT&T Dunk Contest on Saturday, alongside two-time reigning champion Mac McClung of the Orlando Magic, rookie Chicago Bulls small forward Matas Buzelis, and rookie San Antonio Spurs wing Stephon Castle.Per John Ewing of BetMGM, McClung is the odds-on favorite to win at -200, while Buzelis has received the most bets to win.More NBA News: Pelicans Center Out of Rising Stars Challenge Due to Significant InjuryIn 44 games for the 29-24 Bucks this season, Lillard is averaging 25.8 points on .452/.382/.921 shooting splits, 7.5 assists, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.2 steals a night.More Milwaukee Bucks News:Giannis Antetokounmpo, Nikola Jokic Lead First Wave of NBA All-Star Fan VotingMost Improved Teams After 2025 NBA Trade DeadlineKhris Middleton vs Kyle Kuzma — Latest Stats Compared in Wake of Bucks TradeFor more NBA news and rumors, stay tuned to Newsweek Sports.
