Desperate search for Edinburgh woman missing for two weeks as concern grows

The desperate search for a missing Edinburgh woman is continuing nearly two weeks on as concern for her welfare grows. Michaela Sharp was last seen on Parliament Street, in the Leith area of Edinburgh on April 26. Police Scotland have made a new appeal for help in tracing her. The 32-year-old is described as being 5ft3, of slim build and has long brown hair. A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police are repeating an appeal for help from the public to find Missing Person Michaela Sharp. Michaela was last seen in the Parliament Street, Leith area of Edinburgh on 26th April and we are concerned for her welfare. She is described as 32 years old, 5ft3, slim build, long brown hair. Have you seen her? Please call 101 quoting incident number 3085 of 02/05/25. Thank you." We previously reported, in an unrelated missing persons case, that a Scots student who went missing in Madrid was found safe after two days. Gregor Thomson, 21, was last seen at around 1.30am on Saturday, April 26, at a bar in the Spanish capital. He was out with rugby pals before he was separated from the group. His disappearance sparked an urgent search and social media appeal to help find the Edinburgh University student. His cousin Amy Hood confirmed on April 27 that Gregor has been found . She said: "He has been found safe and well. Thank you all for your concern it is much appreciated." Concerned members of the public shared their relief with his family. One commented: "Sending love to all family, I'm so pleased he is back and safe, what a relief for the family." Another said: "Amazing news. What a relief for you all."
