Dhoni Did Not Attend ICC Hall Of Fame Event: Why MS’s Detached Life Is ‘Goals’
@Source: news18.com
The aura of Mahendra Singh Dhoni needs to be studied. The legendary Indian captain, the wicketkeeper-batter, who is still going strong at the age of 43 in the Indian Premier League with the beloved franchise Chennai Super Kings was recently inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame. The only captain in the world to have lifted all three ICC white-ball trophies, Dhoni became the 11th Indian cricketer to be crowned with the Hall of Fame honour. While his fellow inductees including South Africans Hashim Amla and Graeme Smith, Australia’s Matthew Hayden, New Zealander Daniel Vettori, and Pakistan’s Sana Mir posed with their awards, Dhoni was nowhere to be seen. “It is an honour to be named in the ICC Hall of Fame, which recognises the contributions of cricketers across generations and from all over the world. To have your name remembered alongside such all-time greats is a wonderful feeling. It is something that I will cherish forever,” Dhoni was quoted as saying by ICC in a release. Living The Detached Life Eager to see the legend grace the stage, it soon dawned upon fans of Dhoni that he had skipped the ceremony. In a heartwarming post, Shahdeo presented Dhoni with a bouquet and wrote: “Heartiest congratulations to #Mahi @mahi7781 on his #ICCHallOfFame induction! Had the pleasure of meeting him and celebrating this remarkable achievement Wishing #Mahi continued success and admiration from fans worldwide!” Shahdeo captioned the photo and included the following hashtags “#MSDhoniForever” “#CricketLegend”. With barely any appearances, the only time he’s spotted in his hometown Ranchi is when he is riding the motorcycles he loves. “Away from trolls and social media. Living peacefully with farming, bike rides, and pets at his farmhouse. Dhoni’s post retirement life is the dream,” a user on ‘X’ captioned a photo of Dhoni out and about. He could’ve moved to a much bigger tier-1 city but he chooses to stay in his hometown Ranchi. Farming, going on bike rides with a backpack, enjoying his peaceful life totally detached from social media. It truly feels like the ultimate goal,” another user wrote sharing yet another pic of MS waving for a photo. Dhoni’s lifestyle really amazes me.
