LA HABRA -- As the end of summer looms near, everyone's trying to soak up every last sweet moment of summer, including Disney+! The streamer teamed up with the pool sharing platform Swimply to create the "Disney+ Dive-In Theater," where you can watch iconic movies poolside among larger-than-life recreations of iconic moments from the film. On The Red Carpet attended a screening of the 1989 hit "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids." In the film, Rick Moranis plays a scientist who accidentally shrinks his children and two other neighborhood teens to the size of insects! For the event, the decor around the pool included a giant ant, tall grass and Cheerio pool floats to make viewers feel like they, too, are shrunken down. Lisa O'Neill, who played Amy Szalinski and Thomas Wilson Brown, who played Little Russ Thompson, were also in attendance. "I think it's super cool," O'Neill said. "The swimming pool with the Cheerios and the jacuzzi with this giant spoon... you guys, it's awesome." Brown said the nostalgia of it all is what is driving people to find the movie again. "There's certain movies that have just sort of embodied this part of people's childhood and even people who watch it now, new audiences...love it," said Brown. Andrea Barber, who played Kimmy Gibbler on "Full House," knows a little bit about nostalgia and was happy to hit the pool! "People want to go back to the '80s and '90s and relive their favorite childhood shows, their favorite childhood movies. You add swimming and some giant ants and Cheerios to the mix, and this is a fantastic summer night right here." The event is part of the Disney+ Throwback campaign that's been taking over social media this summer. "Disney+ Dive-In Theater" will show "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids" through this Friday. Next week's movie is "Camp Rock," running August 6-9. And "Alien" will be screened August 14-17 Swimply's website has all the information. Of course, if you can't attend an event, you can always stream all these movies on Disney+. The Walt Disney Company is the parent company of this ABC station.
