Donald Trump has said he will meet Keir Starmer in Aberdeen when he visits Scotland later this month. The US President called the city "the oil capital of Europe" and said to "get rid of the windmills." Trump will meet the Prime Minister and First Minister John Swinney when he visits the country later this month. It comes ahead of his state visit in September. Trump told the BBC: "We're going to have a meeting with... a state meeting with the prime minister, and that's gonna be up in Aberdeen, which is the oil capital of Europe, they should bring it back too. "They have so much oil there. "They should get rid of the windmills and bring back the oil. "Cause the windmills are really detrimental to the beauty of Scotland and every other place they go up." Trump is expected to open a second golf course at Menie Estate resort in Aberdeenshire when he visits later this month. It is set to be named after his late Scottish mother Mary. He currently owns two Scottish courses - Trump International Golf Links in the North East and Turnberry in South Ayrshire. It comes ahead of his historic second state visit which will begin on September 17 and last for three days. The invite had been extended to Trump when Starmer went to the White House earlier this year. Aberdeen's oil boom started in the 1970s. But in recent years the focus has moved towards renewable energy. Two potential North Sea oil fields - Rosebank and Jackdaw - are still being considered by the UK Government.
