Staffordshire Police's Road Crime Team made several arrests on the M6 yesterday (Good Friday) including apprehending people wanted for deportation, immigration issues, rape and sexual assault.
Officers swamped the motorway as part of Operation Lightning and made several arrests.
The RTC team tweeted: "Stop check on a vehicle A460 Cannock near to J11 M6 resulted in 2 arrests. Driver wanted by immigration for deportation and passenger wanted recall to prison.
"Driver also didn’t have a driving licence so vehicle seized too."
Shocked officers were also amazed to see a car overtaking them only to find out the driver did not even have a licence.
The team tweeted: "If you’re going to overtake a marked police vehicle travelling at the speed limit on the #M6 make sure you have a valid driving licence and insurance. The driver of the Peugeot only had a provisional and non of the 8 passengers had a driving licence either."
There was also an arrest of a man wanted for sex crimes in the West Midlands.
"Today tactics were used to stop a VW Golf travelling on the #M6. The driver was wanted for Rape and Sexual assault on the @WMPolice Force area. The driver has been arrested."
