EastEnders’ Natalie Cassidy in brutal two-word dig at Meghan Markle’s Netflix show

EastEnders icon Natalie Cassidy aimed a brutal two-word dig at Meghan Markle after being left “bamboozled” by her Netflix lifestyle show. Natalie, 41, was watching With Love, Meghan, as the Duchess of Sussex made a crudité plate with close friend and make-up artist Daniel Martin. The pair can also be seen making a spaghetti dish in a single skillet. Mum-of-two Natalie was however unimpressed with Meghan’s cooking skills as she watched the show. On her Off the Telly podcast with Gavin and Stacey star Joanna Page, she felt Meghan’s skills appeared “beginner”. She said: “You don’t cook pasta with a cream linen suit on, number one.” To which Joanna replied: “Tomatoes as well” Natalie expanded: “No, that’s the first thing. Do you know what, I like Meghan, I mean it, they get a lot of bad press, all of that rubbish, I’m not here to have a go at Meghan, or at Harry, that’s really boring and people do it all the time. They’re living their life, good luck to them. “But as a lifestyle show, I am sorry, she was chopping up some vegetables, her crudité plate, and I thought, you don’t chop a lot, don’t pretend. Her chopping was quite beginner-ish.” Natalie was also perplexed by how simplistic Meghan’s pasta dish was. She added: “The pasta she made was very healthy and I genuinely was bamboozled. She was showing us how to put some vegetables on a plate and added a few flowers to it, who can’t do that?” “It’s really glossy, it’s really easy, I could put another one on. It is what it is, it’s just easy.” With Love, Meghan is the latest Netflix project involving Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The eight-part lifestyle features a string of famous faces including Mindy Kaling and her Suits co-star, Abigail Spencer, who played Dana 'Scottie' Scott. Throughout the series Meghan gives fans an insight into her favourite recipes as well as sharing an insight into her life with Harry and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. The series has however been met with a raft of negative criticism. According to The Mirror, Meghan is said to have been left "devastated and hurt" by the reaction to the series. Royal expert Jennie Bond however warns Meghan not to “waste her time” reading negative comments. She said: “The pile-on of utter mockery about her show has, in my opinion, been completely out of order. Even cruel. "It is a lifestyle show. It is not a political debate or an analysis of global affairs. It’s not meant to have any great substance. It is a show about making things pretty or tasty or comfortable. It doesn’t pretend to be anything else. So I don’t think Meghan should change anything about it for her next series, which has already apparently been shot. "The crew who worked on it have spoken about how charming and hospitable she was. That’s refreshing to hear. The show has quite a few handy little tips, if you’re interested. And if you’re not, then the answer is blindingly obvious: don’t watch it. But leave the poor woman alone and stop the b****y comments."
