CAIRO – The Egyptian national football team has concluded its closed training camp in preparation for its upcoming fixtures against Ethiopia and Sierra Leone in the fifth and sixth rounds of the African qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The matches are scheduled for March 21 and 25, respectively.
The Pharaohs will depart for Morocco on the night of March 18 to face Ethiopia on March 21, before returning to host Sierra Leone at Cairo International Stadium on March 25.
On Monday night, Egyptian Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhi, along with Egyptian Football Association (EFA) President Hani Abu Reda, attended the team’s main training session at Cairo International Stadium.
Egypt competes in Group A of the World Cup qualifiers, alongside Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Guinea-Bissau, Sierra Leone, and Djibouti.
The team currently leads the group standings with 10 points from four matches, securing three wins and one draw.
