Here are your Cardiff City headlines for Tuesday, August 26. Belgian giants Anderlecht have reportedly reignited their pursuit of Cardiff City youngster Tanatswa Nyakuhwa as the summer transfer window enters its final days. Sky Sports report that the 19-year-old forward is the subject of a potential loan bid from the Brussels club, now managed by Besnik Hasi. However, Cardiff are said to have made it clear they will not consider a permanent sale. Join the Cardiff City breaking news and top stories WhatsApp community . Nyakuhwa, a Wales Under-19 international, made his senior debut for the Bluebirds in last season’s defeat to Norwich City and was also involved in this month’s EFL Cup win over Swindon. He was one of 12 academy products to sign professional deals last summer and remains highly regarded at Cardiff City Stadium. Anderlecht’s interest was first noted in January under previous management and their scouts have continued to track his development. Craig Bellamy called Nyakuhwa up to the latest summer training camp with the Wales senior team and has strong links with the Belgian side, having coached there under Vincent Kompany before his jobs with Burnley and the Welsh national team. Brian Barry-Murphy has leaned heavily on youth since taking charge in south Wales, with Nyakuhwa among several prospects pushing for opportunities in a squad that remains light on new signings. Nahki Wells has heaped praise on Cardiff City goalkeeper Nathan Trott following his match-winning display in the Bluebirds’ 1-0 victory over Luton Town. Trott, on loan from FC Copenhagen, was named man of the match after producing a string of outstanding saves to preserve Cardiff’s unbeaten start to the League One season and secure a fourth clean sheet in five games. Wells, who was denied several times by his Bermuda team-mate at Kenilworth Road, told The Royal Gazette : “It just felt like no one was ever going to score through him. He made some of the best saves I’ve ever witnessed on a football pitch and just looks so confident in goal.” The Luton striker added: “Cardiff have got themselves a really good player on their hands. He makes them a lot stronger considering how open and fluent they are in the way they play.” Trott, 26, joined Cardiff last month on a season-long loan and has conceded just twice so far, quickly establishing himself as a key figure in Brian Barry-Murphy’s side. Midfielder Eli King says tonight’s Carabao Cup clash with Cheltenham Town is another opportunity to build momentum and stake a claim for a first-team spot. The Bluebirds have made a superb start to life under Brian Barry-Murphy, sitting top of League One after four straight wins, and King believes every game is vital in helping the squad fully embed the new manager’s ideas. “It’s been a very positive start,” he said. “Every game is a chance to get better and keep implementing what the manager wants. Tuesday is another big game and it’s important for us to keep the run going.” After making 33 appearances on loan at Stevenage last season, the 22-year-old is determined to impress in Cardiff colours this term. I think my strengths really suit the way we want to play – now it’s about proving that.” With Cardiff unbeaten across all competitions, King says the positive atmosphere at the club is shining through. “As players, we’re all looking forward to coming into work every day, which is huge,” he said. “Even if the Luton result had gone the other way, I think the energy and positivity would have stayed the same. Things are feeling very good here at the moment.” --- *Follow all of our social channels to ensure you stay up to date with the latest Bluebirds news.
