Latest posts Team news: Bergvall out for Spurs It’s a close to full-strength line-up for Ange Postecoglou… but Son Heung-min misses with a foot injury and Lucas Bergvall, their super-impressive Swedish midfielder, is not in the squad at all due to an ankle injury he sustained late in training on Wednesday. There’s rumours on social media (not another leak, Ange?) that he might also be out for the season, which would be a disaster. We’ll find out more after full-time. In his place, the out-of-favour Yves Bissouma is handed a rare start in midfield. Meanwhile, Dejan Kulusevski is on the bench - there’s plenty of firepower on there - and Brennan Johnson and Richarlison are handed starts as the wide attackers. Bodo/Glimt are also missing quite a few first-choice players: captain and spiritual leader Patrick Berg, fellow midfielder Hakon Evjen and striker Andreas Helmersen are suspended due to yellow card accumulations, while centre-back Odin Bjortuft is also out injured. Ange Postecoglou.Credit: AP As I said... huge. It’s hard to imagine Postecoglou’s tenure stretching beyond this season - unless they can win the Europa League. And they can. They’re hot favourites to progress to the final on May 22 in Bilbao; that’s no disrespect to Bodo/Glimt, the Norwegian champions, an excellent team in their own right, and one that has foiled Postecoglou before in his previous life as Celtic boss. But Spurs are a Premier League club, their squad is better and deeper, and the visitors are missing almost half their first-choice team for this clash - so they’ve got an amazing opportunity to establish a strong lead in this tie. If they’re good enough. Big if. Their Premier League form doesn’t bode well. But if the Europa League version of Tottenham turns up, anything is possible.
