The football analyst cannot believe that fans are defending Victor Osimhen after he angrily walked out on his Super Eagles teammates following the draw against Zimbabwe.
Pulse Sports analyst Tunde Young has sharply criticised Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen for his ‘petulant' behaviour following the Super Eagles’ frustrating 1-1 draw against Zimbabwe in a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier.
A viral video showing the Napoli star storming off the pitch and ignoring his teammates in Uyo has sparked widespread debate, with Young expressing disbelief at fans rushing to defend the national team’s talisman.

Osimhen, who had delivered a standout performance capped by a superb header to give Nigeria a 1-0 lead, was substituted with just four minutes of regular time remaining.
His goal, set up by a pinpoint Ola Aina cross after Tolu Arokodare’s clever play, seemed poised to secure a vital win.
However, Zimbabwe’s late equaliser shattered those hopes, leaving the Super Eagles with a damaging draw and their World Cup dreams in jeopardy.
Visibly frustrated, Osimhen marched straight off the pitch, brushing past his teammates without acknowledgment, a moment that has since ignited controversy.
Taking to X, Young didn’t mince words, slamming Osimhen’s reaction as unacceptable. “I honestly can't believe people are defending this kind of petulant behavior,” he wrote, quoting the video.
“I understand he's the national darling right now, but let's say the truth, this is not how to react to your teammates.”
Tunde’s remarks highlight a growing tension between Osimhen’s status as Nigeria’s star man and the expectations of leadership and composure in adversity.
While Osimhen’s frustration was palpable after a match where Nigeria missed the chance to revamp their qualifying campaign, Young’s critique stresses a broader call for accountability.
With the Super Eagles now languishing six points behind group leaders South Africa, unity and resolve will be critical moving forward, making Osimhen’s walk-off a flashpoint in an already turbulent journey to the 2026 World Cup.
