“It’s a tough day for all of us who care about Lakewood Shores,” Owner Kevin Aldridge said in a statement. “But we’re thankful that everyone is safe, and that gives us strength to move forward. We remain fully committed to restoring and improving the resort.”
Nobody was injured in the fire.
Plans are already being made to rebuild the resort, according to a statement on the Lakewood Shores website.
“The clubhouse has been an important part of our story, but Lakewood Shores is about more than any one building — it’s about the people, the courses, and the community we’re proud to be part of,” General Manager Craig Peters said in a statement. “We’ll rebuild with that same spirit leading the way.”
The resort will reach out to those with scheduled events, reservations and golf trips int he coming days, the statement said.
The resort features three golf courses, The Gailes, Blackshire and The Serradella, and an 18-hole pitch-and-putt course designed for children and parents. It also offers a private beach on Cedar Lake for swimming, jet skiing, canoeing and fishing.
