A FORMER Manchester United coach has been lined up to fill the vacant manager's post at Southampton. The Saints are on the hunt for a new boss after they were relegated from the Premier League with a whimper. Eric Ramsay is currently manager of Minnesota United in Major League Soccer, a position he took up after leaving Old Trafford. Englishman Ramsay, 33, joined United in 2021 to be a part of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's backroom staff, and he was retained when Ralf Rangnick and Erik Ten Hag took over the helm, He was dubbed United's "secret weapon", thanks to his trilingual skills - fluent in French and Spanish - which helped to integrate foreign players into the first-team fold at Old Trafford. But, in February 2024, he departed United to move stateside and take up his first full managerial position at Minnesota, becoming the youngest ever MLS head coach.
