Carmelo Anthony, a 10-time NBA All-Star, got notified being elected into the Basketball Hall of Fame Class of 2025.He was among the 17 finalists that were announced by the Hall of Fame in February this year. His induction was leaked ahead of the full class of 2025 that is all set to be made official at the Men's Final Four in San Antonio on Saturday, CBS Sports reported.LeBron James congratulates Carmelo AnthonySoon after the news broke out, James congratulated Melo on social media. They two of them belong to the 2003 NBA Draft class and have remained friends since a long time.While tagging Anthony on X, James wrote, CONGRATULATIONS MY BROTHER! PEACE GOD. In 2003, Anthony got drafted third overall by the Denver Nuggets. Throughout his career, he mainly played for the Denver Nuggets and New York Knicks, besides his brief stints at Portland Trail Blazers, Oklahoma City Thunder, Houston Rockets and Los Angeles Lakers.Apart from 10 All-Star Teams, Anthony also made six All-NBA teams and won the scoring title in 2013. He also featured among the NBA's 75th anniversary team in 2020.According to ESPN, he even represented the United States during the Olympics, starting off with a bronze medal in 2004. This was followed by three consecutive gold medals in 2008, 2012 and 2016 games.The Basketball Hall of Fame honours players both in and outside the world of NBA. During his college basketball days, Anthony was a part of Syracuse and helped the side secure its only national championship back in 2003.Earlier, Anthony reacted to his nomination on his podcast and said that for him that was it since there's nothing else in basketball I can do . That's the pinnacle, that's the door. When you think about Hall of Famers who are already in there and the way they opened up the door for you, that's a special moment. I'm going to embrace this.
