Jason Knauf, a former royal advisor, has spoken out after accusing Meghan Markle of bullying junior palace staff nearly seven years ago.
When asked during an interview with “60 Minutes Australia” released Sunday whether he would do anything differently, Knauf responded, “I wouldn’t change anything.”
“I think it’s tough, but it’s probably quite good,” he said about the public attention he has received since the 2018 allegations leaked in 2021.
“You know, as someone who has been helping other people through how to deal with the public eye, you probably have to take your own medicine sometimes,” Knauf added, with a laugh.
“You can’t choose just to take the fun stuff in any job, and that applies to the prince and princess as well as everyone else working for them. So, I wouldn’t change anything.”
Knauf said he worked “really closely” with Harry, 40, and Markle, 43, and they had “lots of great times” together.
Knauf also recalled the “magical experience” of planning their 2018 fairytale wedding.
“I wish them absolutely all the best with their lovely family,” he said in the interview.
Reps for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex weren’t immediately available to Page Six for comment.
Knauf alleged he first noticed the bullying in 2018 after he joined the couple on a trip.
At the time, he filed a complaint against the “Suits” alum, but it wasn’t leaked until 2021, days before her and Harry’s tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey.
“I am very concerned that the Duchess was able to bully two PAs out of the household in the past year. The treatment of X was totally unacceptable,” he allegedly wrote.
“The Duchess seems intent on always having someone in her sights. She is bullying Y and seeking to undermine her confidence. We have had report after report from people who have witnessed unacceptable behavior towards Y.”
Knauf concluded that he was concerned “nothing will be done” about Markle’s alleged behavior.
At the time, the Times of London was told that Markle allegedly brought her staff to tears when she lived at Kensington Palace.
Per the outlet, a staff member was allegedly left “shaking” after a bad encounter with the actress, and two senior employees were bullied into quitting.
Another ex-staffer came forward, alleging they faced “emotional cruelty and manipulation” from Markle rather than bullying.
Markle, however, denied the allegations and was “saddened” by the “attack on her character, particularly as someone who has been the target of bullying herself.”
A spokesperson for Markle also referred to the claims as “a calculated smear campaign based on misleading and harmful misinformation.”
